WHEN TOMMY MET ANNA

We had the privilege of working alongside Christopher Sherman and his team at The Hudson’s Bay Company’s “social network agency” to hype up this already world renouned gallery opening. It took place in The Room at the Bay’s flagship store on Queen, and man-o-man was it a spectacle. We look forward to doing much more with the Bay fam. Enjoy! (PS -- love the Dello Russo)

CONTIKI | WEB VID PACKAGING

As is the trend, Contiki is expecting to push into the second half of 2011 with an avalanche of video content for their site, and what better way to dress up your content than with a custom tailored suit! For this group of wanderers and fun seekers we came up with a quirky intro/outro design package that allows them to book end all of their content with their branding. The sound design borrows from the sound-scape of their most popular destinations, and their country of origin -- New Zealand.

CONTIKI “HAVE YOU DONE IT?”

The challenge of injecting a little edge and diversity into Contiki Canada’s brand couldn’t have landed in more appreciative hands. I’ve heard stories of what goes on during a Contiki Tour, but you’d never know it looking through one of their squeaky clean travel brochures. After meeting with President, Brad Ford, and experiencing his vision for the brand firsthand we were ready to begin rocking the boat, ruffling feathers and turning you on with a campaign full of innuendo. To those who enjoyed AND to those who were offended we say, “get your mind out of the gutter and onto a Contiki Tour”.

theMAGAZINE

This pilot project is set to take the stage at an undetermined time on an unspecified network. That’s all the details we’re allowed to provide at this time. Well, we can say that this is their very first HD venture and we provided a whole package including sound design. You can be sure we’ll give you more deets here + a look at the whole package once it’s green lit.

MARRIAGE UNDER CONSTRUCTION

I got addicted to MUC in its 2nd season. Little did I know we’d be called on to provide an opening for it’s 3rd. Done in the same fashion as its predecessor, this one was captured as a series of stills on the 7D -- shot and edited in the same day. How’s that for a quick turnaround?

“GAP ADVENTURES TV” IDENT

Working with Gap Adventures has been a long time ambition of mine so I was more than excited when they called on us to create an animation for them. The challenge with this particular project was in the sound design. They wanted something simple, easily identifiable and that represented two key aspects of the company’s profile: travel and harmony. They were looking for a “sound brand” similar to what Intel, Rogers and CTV employ. What we came up with used a combination of kalimba, African voices and some subtle airplane whooshes. Accompanied by the animation it won the approval of Gap’s creative team hands down … and with rave reviews. More.

2009 MMVAs TEASER [1 of 3]

The theme for the 2009 MMVA’s was “Naked”. …Yep. That’s right. … Naked. Having no problem conjuring up ideas for this particular theme we opted for something that we could pull of in a week (literally). The idea behind these 30 second, super slow-mo teasers was “Riding the Mosh … naked”. Shot in the fall, I learned respect for the talent who braved the weather, wearing only tine little flesh coloured fabric discs to cover their naughty bits. Brilliantly shot by DP Adam Makarenko, these were a joy to Direct -- aside from odd creepo leering from behind a nearby tree. TEASER 2 of 3, TEASER 3 of 3

COREL “REMEMBER WHEN?” LEGACY [pt.4 of 5]

Working with the geniuses behind Spoke Agency, this piece Written by Kai Exos, and Directed by Trevor Francis was commissioned by Corel as a lifestyle piece demonstrating the power of their new Digital Studio. It subtly demonstrates how a lifetime of memories can be captured and shared using the software, from various devices, and output to various media. It was built to be seen as a short film viewed in its entirety, or broken up into smaller segments that feature a certain strength of the software.
